על הסרט:

Dennis Hopper’s “Easy Rider” is a hypnotic journey into America’s

society of the late-1960s. While some are becoming trend-setters (Hopper and Peter Fonda), others are scared of the changing face of the nation. The two star as drug-smoking, -dealing motorcyclists who just want to go to Mardi Gras in New Orleans. They start their journey and it becomes more clear that they are not really bad people at all, they just look strange and do some strange things. After a stay in a small-town jail they become friends with a young attorney (Jack Nicholson, in his first Oscar-nominated, star-making role). Nicholson joins them on their odyssey to New Orleans, but in the end hatred and violence will prove too much for the three men. “Easy Rider” is quality film-making at its finest. Along with “Midnight Cowboy”, “Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid”, and “The Wild Bunch”, this was a key film made during 1969. The screenplay is smart and unrelenting. Hopper’s direction is focused, bright, loud, and exceptional. All the performances all great, but Jack Nicholson proved to be the find of the century. He had been working for over 10 years and no one had paid attention to him. They took notice after this film and he has not looked back. An exceptional film from all angles. One of the best and most important films of the 1960s. 5 stars out of 5.
