Relationships are like clay – a poem

Relationships are like clay
Relationships are a clay pot.
Handfuls of soil, accumulating rainwater
and growing lilac and hyacinth bulbs.
Sun from above, water inside and growth in the middle.
Relationships are a clay pot
In cattle they are soft soil
At noon they are an oasis
And in the evening they are cracks.
Relationships are a clay pot,
inside warm promises,
Cold threats outside
And in between the bays of widening cracks.
Relationships are like broken pottery,
Come night, a tiny kitten will rub against them
And here they crumble,
Disintegrate at once.
